About Josh Smith
Joshua Smith was born and raised in the Inland Empire. He graduated from Arrowhead Christian Academy and continued his education in this area. His service in youth ministry began in 1995, when he worked with 5th and 6th graders at nearby Yucaipa Christian Church. Josh was naturally drawn to youth ministry. He continued for many years, volunteering also with High School age youth.
Joshua married Angie in 2004 and instantly became a father to Sheridan, his stepdaughter. Currently, he and Angie have 2 more children, Luke and Ellianna. Family, and a satisfying full time job, keep Josh very busy, however working as a part time youth director for Solid Ground allows him to continue his passion to see kids grow in their love for Christ.
Joshua finds this calling to work with young people highly rewarding. He is concerned about the number of kids leaving the church as they move to adulthood, and is motivated to find ways to stop this trend. He believes that fostering deep connections to authentic Christianity and Godʼs Word are key, and is excited about keeping these as foundations for “Rock Solid”.
