About Pastor Rick
Rick Gunn grew up in nearby Riverside, California. He dedicated his life to follow Christ at Crossroads Christian Church in Corona when he was in High School. He had been impressed with the eyewitness testimoney and historical evidence for the resurrection of Jesus and had been especially touched by the life stories of students who had gotten off of drugs and had made major lifestyle changes because of their faith in Christ.
Rick is a graduate of Pacific Christian College/Hope International University in Fullerton California where he graduated in 1978 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Youth Ministry and Bible. He has been involved in full time ministry with both youth and adults for the last 29 years. Rick was an Associate Pastor at nearby Yucaipa Christian Church for the last 23 years, until February of 2007 when he accepted the challenge of starting a new church here in Redlands called Solid Ground Christian Fellowship. He has been trained and mentored by Stadia New Church Strategies, a ministry organization devoted to the starting of new churches all over the U.S. (see http://www.stadia.cc/).
He is the father of two teenage boys, Jason and Joel, and has been married to his wife Sharon for 25 years. Ricks two major goals in life are simple: To be the best husband and father he can be and to introduce as many people into a growing relationship with Christ as he can.
